Village of Melrose Park
Police Department - Station Supervisor
Station supervisors are on staff to be of assistance to the patrol shift lieutenants and sergeants. If an incident comes up in the station, they are there to address what would otherwise require a shift lieutenant or sergeant to leave their patrol on the street and come into the station. This would reduce the shift patrolling capability and result in less police presence on the streets. An increase of police presence serves not only visually serves as a comfort to residents, but also as a deterrent to any possible offenders.
Station supervisors are also on staff to assist anyone who may walk into the police station with questions or concerns requiring a shift supervisor. They are qualified to address complaints by citizens, assist them in questions for filing reports, and take action if considered necessary.
Station supervisors act as liaisons to other local, county, state, and/or federal agencies requiring an exchange or dissemination of information. They are an essential element in the management reporting network for the Melrose Park police department. |
